Curators adjourn with no action taken
KANSAS CITY--The University of Missouri's Board of Curators met in executive session for approximately 90 minutes on Thursday afternoon at UMKC. When they emerged, no details of the session were offered.
In fact, the Curators exited through a back stairway and were all seated on a bus before media was even alerted the meeting was over. The Curators' spokesperson Jennifer Hollingshead confirmed that no action was taken at the meeting.
All nine Curators-seven voting and two non-voting-plus the student representative were in attendance. Athletic Director Mike Alden, interim system President Steve Owens and Chancellor Brady Deaton were also at the meeting.
The Curators are set to reconvene Friday morning. There is an open session set to begin at 9:00 a.m. There is scheduled press availability following the opening session prior to another executive session starting at approximately 10 a.m.
Throughout the week, sources have indicated that the meeting would be the next step toward a withdrawal from the Big 12 and a move to the Southeastern Conference for Mizzou.
