Missouri in the Rivals250

A year ago, Missouri's staff ended the 2013 recruiting cycle with offers out to 33 of the final Rivals250. This year -- in May, remember -- that number is already 42, based on the latest release of the Rivals250 presented by Under Armour.

Going a step further, Missouri has already offered 16 recruits in the Rivals150, compared to 13 a year ago. That includes two five-stars in Norcross (Ga.) defensive end Lorenzo Carter and Oakley (Cali.) running back Joe Mixon.

Of the Rivals100 offers, most aren't considering the Tigers at this juncture. However, Bethlehem (Ga.) all-purpose back Stanely Williams has told PowerMizzou.com twice that he's seriously considering the Tigers. At this point, Williams tweeted that a decision could come in the next few weeks. Despite his statements that he's seriously considering Missouri, it's unlikely he picks the Tigers if a decision does come that quickly.

Missouri has also offered the second-ranked pro-style quarterback in the nation, David Cornwell of Norman, Okla. Cornwell has said he's wide open at this point, and the longer his decision plays out, Missouri may have at least a small chance of moving itself up his list, especially with a strong start to the season.

Former Tigers commitment Andy Bauer of St. Louis checks into the list at No. 96. Bauer is an Ole Miss commitment, but Missouri has not stopped recruiting him, despite his recent flip to the Rebels.

The final 26 offers in the Rivals250 comes to plays ranked 101-250. Most notably of that list is the presence of Lee's Summit West (Mo.) receiver Monte Harrison, who moved from a three-star to a four-star after taking home top receiver honors at the Rivals Camp Series in O'Fallon, Ill. He bested Allan Lazard, the top receiver in the nation, for those honors. Harrison's recruitment is sure to take off even more, but Missouri has established a pipeline to Lee's Summit West, whose head coach is Royce Boehm, father of current Missouri center Evan Boehm. Missouri already has the commitment of one of Harrison's teammate, Kevin Pendleton, and is in good shape with cornerback Logan Cheadle. Harrison may have a future in baseball sooner rather than later, and he's said he'd like to play both sports in college. If Missouri lands Cheadle, and if the staff allows Harrison to explore both sports, the Tigers would have a good shot at landing him.

Another intriguing Rivals250 recruit is Texas City (Texas) receiver Armanti Foreman. Foreman hasn't spoken much about Missouri, but the Tigers recently offered his twin, D'onta Foreman, in a play to land both. D'Onta said Missouri is a school both players are now considering, as they would like to play together in college.

In addition to Bauer and Harrison, Missouri has offered two more in-state recruits who reside in the Rivals250. Bolivar quarterback Rafe Peavey committed early to Arkansas and appears to be off the market. Florissant offensive tackle Roderick Johnson checks in at No. 204 on the list, and while Missouri has made up ground over the last two months, there's still work to be done to land the 6-foot-7, 310-pound lineman.

One of Missouri's recent offers, Marrero (La.) running back Darrel Williams, moved up from a 5.7-three star to the nation's 207th-ranked player. It's unclear where he stands after a handful of new offers, but if LSU offers him, his recruitment could be over quickly.

The distribution of Missouri's offers to Rivals250 members shows the change in the staff's recruiting map since the move to the SEC. Twenty of the 42 offers reside in states with an SEC team, which is the same number as the 2013 class. This year, however, Missouri has the most Rivals250 offers in two states:

The Tigers have six offers out to Rivals250 recruits in both Georgia and Illinois.
