HOLD ON TO THE BALL: Realistically, Arkansas State is only in this game late if Missouri allows it to happen. The easiest way to let an underdog hang around? Turnovers. Mizzou turned it over three times against Indiana, all in the first half and all inside Hoosier territory. The Tigers didn't have much problem surviving the giveaways, but it's not a recipe for success. Missouri simply has to avoid a litany of turnovers in this one.
BACK TO THE BASICS: Maybe we are greatly underestimating the Red Wolves, but they've looked really bad in the first month of the season. There shouldn't be a need for exotic blitzes, surprise defenses or putting James Franklin at risk with 18 runs. Just stay vanilla, go about your business, and win. It's not incredibly exciting, but with SEC play a week away, it absolutely is the smart way to go.
APPLY THE PRESSURE: Arkansas State's offensive line is struggling. Missouri's defensive front looked better last week against Indiana. If the Tigers can get pressure with their front four, this game could be over before halftime.
PREDICTION TIME: I think you can tell which way I'm leaning. Auburn beat this team by 29. Memphis throttled the Red Wolves 31-7. It's not impossible that this game is close, but I've yet to see a reason to expect it to be. Prediction: Missouri 41, Arkansas State 16
