Kick them while they're down

In a down SEC, South Carolina is at the bottom. The Gamecocks have lost their first five league games, three by at least eight points and two by double digits. Frank Martin starts four freshmen or sophomores and his team's only road win came at St. Mary's. The Gamecocks may be good down the road, but right now, they aren't. Missouri has to win this one and ought to remove the suspense pretty early.
Win the boards

Missouri's losses have come when they have had problems rebounding, particularly allowing teams to get on the offensive glass. South Carolina starts just one player bigger than 6-foot-5. The Tigers may not see a lot of games where they have an edge inside, but this is one. And Earnest Ross, who is the top rebounding guard in the SEC, could help a lot in that regard.
Help the big three

Ross, Jordan Clarkson and Jabari Brown combined for 63 points in 102 minutes against LSU. The rest of the team scored eight points on 4-21 shooting in 98 minutes. The big three is going to carry the Tigers, but they need more help than that. The rest of the roster has to contribute more than it has been of late.

Frank Haith on the season

"Our post play has got to get better. We need more production out of those guys. When I say production, I'm not saying we need 40 points or 30 points, we just need more production out of our low post guys...I will tell you, if you watch us in practice we make layups in practice. Keanau Post makes layups in practice, Torren Jones makes layups in practice."
Jabari Brown on his hot streak

"Right now, every shot I take pretty much feels good. Luckily, not luckily, but I'm just glad that they've been going in. I just hope they continue to go in. I feel that they will because I prepare for every game and that's why I take good shots."

Missouri 80-65
