Rivals250 to watch for 2008 released

The Class of 2008 Rivals250 to watch is a deep, comprehensive watch list of college football prospects for the forthcoming recruiting cycle.

The list is a pre-evaluation watch list and is not ranked numerically. The first release of the Rivals250 will come during the month of June.

Several states are well-represented on the watch list. California leads the way with 29 representatives. Texas (26) and Florida (23) round out the top three.

The states of Louisiana (13), Georgia (12) and Ohio (11) also were well-represented.

There are a couple of prospects from states that aren't normally represented on such lists.

South Dakota isn't known for producing to college football talent, but defensive end Riley Reiff of Parkston currently holds multiple offers.

Artesia (N.M.) quarterback Landry Jones, also a member of the 100 to watch list, represents the Land of Enchantment.

Connecticut has two representatives - defensive tackle Masengo Kabongo and Windsor wide receiver Justin Wilson.

Several states are trending higher than in the Class of 2007.

Arizona has five representatives on the list, led by Junior All-American Gerell Robinson. The state had three players in the final Rivals250 for the class of 2007.

Kentucky, which did not have a representative on the final Rivals250 for 2007, has three prospects on this list: defensive end Dexter Heyman, offensive lineman David Ulinski and defensive end Brandon Young. All three prospects are from Louisville.

Minnesota has three representatives after finishing 2007 with one top prospect, defensive end Anthony Jacobs, on the Rivals250.

All of the Rivals.com Junior All-Americans, including National Junior of the Year Terrelle Pryor, and all members of the Rivals.com 100 to watch for 2008 list are included in the 250.
