After a couple of days off, the Missouri Tigers returned to the practice field to start the final week of open practices in fall camp. PowerMizzou.com has the day's report:

*Plenty of new walk-ons joined the team with school starting. I'll pick up a roster and get you details in the next couple of days.
*T.J. Moe worked an awful lot with the punt returners. I still don't see how Moe can be ready for Illinois, but I do think he'll play this season.
*Gary Pinkel said he is hopeful of getting Dan Hoch back to practice by Saturday. However, the coach said he'll be back for sure by next Tuesday and should be ready to go for Illinois.
*Kerwin Stricker and Tavon Bolden are back practicing in a limited capacity after battling injuries. Mark Hill and Adam Burton were in pads for the first time on Tuesday.
*In one-on-one receiving drills, freshman LDamian Washington made a pair of nice catches, one sliding along the sideline and the other leaping in the corner of the end zone.
*Kenji Jackson picked up an interception against Jimmy Costello
in 7-on-7 when Costello overthrew his receiver. Pinkel said the quarterback situation, and almost all other personnel issues, should be settled after Thursday's scrimmage.
*Couple of notes in offensive line drills:
Justin Britt did a nice job holding out Aldon Smith on one rep I watched.
Tim Barnes got a solid win over Dominique Hamilton and Austin Wuebbels beat Terrell Resonno while I watched.
*In 11-on-11, Costello made a nice throw over the middle and Michael Egnew went high to bring it down. I've really been coninually impressed with Egnew.
*Blaine Gabbert hooked up with Wes Kemp on a nice sideline route. Missouri's starting quarterback and camp's most consistent receiver (along with the starting right tackle) were once committed elsewhere. How different could this offense look? Sounds like a story idea. Check PMTV tomorrow.
*Play of the Day: It's not often the play of the day comes from line drills, but this one was impressive. Brad Madison flat out ran over Jack Meiners. He put the 300-pounder on his back and stepped over him for the win in the drill. Madison is a second-stringer and has played very well, despite only moving to defense in spring ball. The top three are really good at defensive end, but Madison is a lot better than he's getting pub for.
