JOPLIN, MO--On Sunday night, the University of Missouri basketball team played an exhibition game in Joplin and raised more than one hundred thousand dollars to help victims of the May 22nd tornado.
PowerMizzou.com was in town to cover the game. But a basketball game simply is not the big story on a trip to Joplin.
One hundred sixty-two people died as a result of the tornado five months ago. Each has a story. PowerMizzou.com had the chance to meet one family and to hear one of those stories.

To donate to Joplin relief efforts, you can call (417) 625-9396 or help through the Heart of Missouri United Way. You can also purchase a "One State, One Spirit" shirt from the University of Missouri right here.
