The last couple weeks before signing day, college coaches traditionally spend making sure all the ducks are in a row with current commitments. That is exactly what Gary Pinkel was doing on Monday evening.
"Coach Pinkel and coach Yost were actually down here today for an in-home visit," said Jefferson City lineman Travis Ruth. "It went good. It wasn't too tough for me trying to decide what school to go to or anything."
Ruth was the very first commitment of Mizzou's 2008 class when he pulled the trigger way back on National Signing Day 2007. He has never wavered since and is getting ready for his career as a Tiger.
"I'm just lifting a lot and running," he said. "I'm doing track this spring so I'll be working out with them."
Ruth and the Jays finished his senior season 8-and-2 and the three-star lineman said he was happy with his play.
"It was kind of disappointing, but it ended up on a good note," Ruth said. "I thought I played well. This was my last year and I was happy with how I played."
Ruth said he expects to start out at offensive tackle when he arrives in Columbia in the summer. PowerMizzou.com will be in Jeff City on signing day when Ruth makes things official.
