Cuonzo Martin’s contract information was released prior to his introductory press conference on Monday at Mizzou Arena and the new head coach is receiving quite the pay raise from his predecessor.

Martin’s salary is for seven years and $21 million with $2.7 million being guaranteed in his first season. Martin’s salary increases by $100,000 each season, currently ending with $3.3 million guaranteed in year seven. The annual base salary is $300,000.

Martin’s contract gives him two courtesy cars, a suite at Mizzou Arena and six premium tickets for Missouri home football games in the fall. After the South End Zone Project is completed in 2019, those tickets will transfer into a suite.

The East St. Louis native's staff pool is $1.1 million, which he can use to hire three assistants, a director of operations, a strength coach and a video coordinator.

His incentives could max out at $605,000 annually as follows:

-$50,000 for academics/social

-$50,000 for academic aspirational

-$50,000 for winning the SEC regular season title

-$25,000 for winning the SEC Tournament

-$25,000 for an NCAA Tournament berth

-$25,000 for advancing to the Sweet 16

-$50,000 for advancing to the Elite 8

-$75,000 for advancing to the Final Four

-$200,000 for winning the national title

-$25,000 for winning SEC Coach of the Year

-$50,000 for winning National Coach of the Year

Martin will be paid $25,000 for a 25-win season and $50,000 for a 30-win season.

Should Missouri chose to fire Martin he will be paid $6 million after his fourth season. If Martin choses to leave after next season his buyout is $10.5 million. The number drops to $5 million if Martin leaves after May 1, 2019, which would be after his second season and continues to drop as the years go on.

Per the release, Martin signed his contract on March 15.
