Powell flips to Missouri

One visitor to Mizzou this weekend slipped in completely unnoticed. Fayetteville (Ark.) quarterback Taylor Powell made the 296 mile drive very quietly, evidently.

Powell has been on Mizzou's radar for quite a while. He camped with the Tigers last summer and has also visited Columbia unofficially. But at that time the Tiger coaches decided not to offer.

Fast forward a few months and that decision has been reversed. With a Mizzou offer in hand Powell decided stay closer to home and play in the Southeastern Conference.

The 2016 Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year threw for 3,473 yards and 44 touchdowns as a senior. During his high school career Powell set state records with 10,413 yards and 113 touchdowns. Powell's Fayetteville Purple Dogs have won back-to-back state championships.

The three-star quarterback is commitment 22 for Mizzou. PowerMizzou.com will have more on Powell's flip as soon as possible.
