As we continue to look at every position on the roster, we arrive at, without a doubt, the Tigers' deepest spot. Missouri has a ton of talent at wide receiver. To see where we were entering the spring, take a look at our receiver preview.

The Starters: First off, starter is a relative term. Missouri will play at least five wide receivers a bunch. William Franklin came back healthy with a monstrous spring. He was under consideration for our best offensive player. Danario Alexander was fantastic as well, earning himself a starting nod. Never one to grab the headlines, Tommy Saunders is just steady and is currently the third starter.
The Backups: Jared Perry may very well be starting by the Illinois game and is the top reserve. There are technically just two more spots. Without a doubt, by fall, Jeremy Maclin will earn one of them. It looks as if either Jason Ray or Greg Bracey will find himself squeezed out of significant playing time as a senior. Both players would be well served to have a big camp in August.
Fall Camp Preview: Saunders is steady as a rock, but he's going to have an absolute battle on his hands to hold off Perry and probably Maclin for that third starting spot. In fact, even Alexander isn't safe. The only sure starter here is Franklin. By the same token, the top five will likely each catch at least 25 passes this season. The matter of who is a starter is nothing more than a pride factor and a technicality to list on the depth chart.
Coming tomorrow: Tight end
