Missouri landed a big commitment--literally and figuratively--Monday as 6-foot-7 offensive lineman Yasir Durant flipped from San Diego State to the Tigers.

Durant is pledge no. 20 for the Tigers 2017 class. Florida running back Isaiah Miller committed earlier on Monday.

Originally from Philadelphia, Durant was a late qualifier out of high school, which is how he wound up at Arizona Western Community College.

He officially visited Missouri this past weekend and was hosted by Paul Adams.

"It went great actually," he told PowerMizzou.com. "I loved everything about it."

Durant said he had a good feeling going into the visit, he just wanted to make sure he liked the players and coaches before committing.

“Just everything,” he said. “I had a pretty good feeling about it coming in because I’ve spent a lot of time with Coach Elarbee. I just wanted to see how all the players were, all the coaches were. I loved all of it and my mom really loved it as well. She had no complaints.”

He spent a lot of time with the coaching staff over the weekend and actually committed to Missouri on Saturday. Durant and his mother are big fans of offensive line coach Glen Elarbee, who had made a few trips out to Arizona to see him.

"He's a great guy," he said. "And Coach Odom came to see my mom in Philadelphia. He's a great guy.

“They’re excited for me. They love my film.”

Durant said Missouri currently projects him at tackle, but he can play guard as well. He said his pulling has improved over the course of his junior college season.

“Probably pulling,” he said. “The thing they liked about my high school film was that I pulled a lot as a tackle. When I went to junior college I had to play guard and they really liked the way I pulled.”

Durant will be an early enrollee for Missouri, which means he’ll be on campus next semester and will be able to participate in spring football practices. He plans to major in sports management at Missouri.
