Tigers set to fill out hoops staff
Missouri appears to have filled the vacancy on its basketball staff. Reports surfaced early Wednesday afternoon and PowerMizzou.com has confirmed through sources close to the Western Michigan program that Frank Haith will hire Western Michigan assistant Rick Carter. The Tigers have been short a coach since Ryan Miller took a job at Auburn after just a couple of months at Mizzou.
Carter started out working with the Michigan Mustangs, an AAU team from 2000-03 and parlayed that into a job at Michigan State for three seasons. From there, he became the Director of Basketball Operations and then an assistant at Fairfiled before moving to WMU. He has been with the Broncos for four seasons.
Missouri left town for a ten-day tour in Europe on Wednesday morning. No one connected with Mizzou is available for comment at this time.
