Fall camp is now just nine days away. Over the next week and a half, leading up to the day of the first practice, PowerMizzou.com will count down the ten most important Tigers for the 2008 season. The list was made up with a look at past performance, expected impact during the 2008 season and depth at any given position. Today, we continue the countdown.

9. Jared Perry
The quick take: Perry is slated as the Tigers' third starting wideout, beside Jeremy Maclin and Tommy Saunders. He was thrust into the starting lineup when Danario Alexander suffered a setback in recovery from a torn ACL. However, with Alexander out all spring, Perry has already had plenty of practice with the top offensive unit.
Career so far: Perry burst on the scene as a true freshman, catching 37 passes for more than 400 yards. But after a rocky start in 2007, Perry was lost in the shuffle for much of the year and caught only 13 passes in Mizzou's breakout season.
Why he's on the list: Maclin had a stellar freshman season because there was a lot of focus on Will Franklin last year. This year, it will be Maclin drawing double and triple coverage. The Tigers are going to need someone on the outside who can exploit single coverage and give opposing defenses another big-time receiver to think about. With Alexander on the shelf, Perry is the guy most likely to make that happen. If he can rebound to freshman form and hang on to the ball, Perry should be headed for a monster season as a junior.
