For more than a month-and-a-half, Diablo Valley cornerback Castine Bridges has been a Missouri Tiger commitment. For a little while last week, that commitment looked like it could be on shaky ground. Last Monday, PowerMizzou.com got a tip that Bridges had taken an official visit to Indiana.

"Yeah, I went up there," Bridges said. "What happened is they were recruiting my brother. They came to my house to see him and started recruiting me. They knew I was committed to Missouri, but they told me to come and check it out anyway with my brother."
Bridges did go on that trip, but things didn't go quite as he had anticipated.
"When we were there, when we were getting ready to leave, they started talking about a package deal," Bridges said. "They were saying that if I don't come then my brother can't come."
That threw a shadow of doubt over Bridges' plan to come to Mizzou.
"That complicated a lot of things," Bridges admitted. "I was really worried about my brother…That complicated a lot of things for me."
However, Bridges, his brother, Namon West, and his mom had a family meeting late last week to work things out.
"I didn't want to be selfish. I wanted to think about my brother," Bridges said. "He has a daughter here he has to look out for so he has some other things to think about. He told me he wanted me to go to Missouri and that's what I needed to hear."
Bridges still plans to sign with the Tigers on Wednesday, February 1st, which is national signing day. As for his brother, plans are still up in the air.
"He might end up going Division II or something," Bridges said. "Utah is still recruiting him also. He has his daughter to think about too, though, so he can't just put where he wants to go to school first."
Bridges is ranked as the No. 89 junior college prospect in the nation.
