All eyes will converge on SLUH (Mo.) later today at 4 p.m. CST for the much-anticipated commitment of five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound prospect will choose among a final group that includes Missouri, Texas, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Miami, and Georgia.

However, this is really a two-team race between Missouri and Texas. Two programs Wingo took official visits to over the summer and gameday visits to this fall.

Coming out of his June officials, which also included Georgia and Michigan, it seemed the momentum was on the side of Texas, who also got Wingo back on campus for their game against Wyoming back in September.

Despite that, Missouri has always been firmly in the race and is off to a 7-1 start with a high-powered offense led by two St. Louis natives in quarterback Brady Cook and wide receiver Luther Burden.

Since Wingo's return visit to Texas, the five-star talent has been in attendance for three Missouri games - Memphis (at The Dome in St. Louis), LSU, and most recently South Carolina this past weekend.

Wingo originally planned to announce his commitment on December 20th, but announced the move up in the middle of last week. Take that, plus Missouri's hot start and offensive production, plus Wingo's return visit to campus over the weekend ahead of his decision, equals all the momentum seemingly on Missouri's side.

If Wingo commits to Missouri, he will become the second, five-star prospect in the Tigers' 2024 recruiting class, joining Lee's Summit North (Mo.) defensive end Williams Nwaneri.
