Film Room: Pompey Coleman

Matt Hamilton is a former college football student assistant and NFL scouting intern for the Detroit Lions. He currently researches and writes for NFL Playbook on the NFL Network. Hamilton has broken down three years worth of recruiting classes for PowerMizzou.com. He will offer his analysis of the Tigers' 2017 recruiting class throughout the year.

Pompey Coleman is an exciting left tackle prospect with a good frame, athleticism, and leg strength. Can play either tackle if needed, but ultimately like him at LT.

Fires off the ball impressively, gets to the second level with ease, and blocks well in space. Has good feet and lateral movement, shows impressive recognition and execution on stunts and twists.

Would like to see him bend at the knees more consistently as opposed to the waist. Uses his hands well, but could finish his blocks a little more consistently. Needs to continue to build up his strength, especially in the upper body.

Overall, I think Coleman has a very high ceiling because of his frame, athleticism, and versatility, but needs to get in the weight room and fine tune his technique.
