Five under fire

Today, we continue our spring previews with a look at five players who may be pushed for playing time this spring. Here is a look at players who are facing a potential make or break spring camp:

Ashton Glaser, QB: The Tigers are looking for a new starting quarterback and the sophomore from Springdale, AR, seems to enter the race slightly behind a pair of younger players. If Glaser is going to be a starting quarterback at Missouri, he'll have to beat out James Franklin and Tyler Gabbert with an impressive spring.

Rolandis Woodland, WR: Woodland showed flashes during his sophomore year and has speed and big play ability that not many can match. But with Marcus Lucas and two redshirt freshmen coming in, the time for Woodland to make his mark is now.

L'Damian Washington, WR: See above. Washington has shown off a lot of ability in practice, but did not see a lot of time on Saturdays last season. With all three starters back and the young talent coming in, Washington could use a strong spring to vault himself up the depth chart.

Marvin Foster, DT: The opportunity for playing time is there at defensive tackle, particularly if Dominique Hamilton isn't full speed this spring. But with Lucas Vincent now eligible after a redshirt season and Sheldon Richardson coming in this fall, Foster could use the spring to boost his stock.

Robert Steeples, CB: Kip Edwards and E.J. Gaines look to be the leading candidates to replace two departed starters from last season. Steeples will not only have to battle Trey Hobson, but also fight off redshirts Tristen Holt and Xavier Smith if he intends to see meaningful time on the field.
