Florida athlete commits to Mizzou

Missouri landed commitment 21 in the 2017 class as Ocala (Fla.) Vanguard athlete Tyree Gillespie committed to the Tigers tonight he told PowerMizzou.com.

Rivals.com rated the 6-foot-1, 200-pound prospect as a two-star safety. Missouri is recruiting him as an athlete and he could play on either side of the ball for the Tigers.

Gillespie rushed for 555 yards and seven touchdowns on 39 carries as a senior. That is a healthy 14.2 yards per carry for the mathematically challenged. On defense he had 40 tackles and two interceptions with one of the interceptions going for a touchdown. Gillespie also had a 43 yard punt return for a touchdown.

The Vanguard Knights finished the season 10-2. They lost to the eventual Class 6 state runner-up Lake Gibson by one point in the regional finals.

PowerMizzou.com will have more on the commitment of Tyree Gillespie when his official visit concludes.
