Missouri picked up a big commitment on Saturday night when Vance (N.C.) outside linebacker Gerald Nathan, Jr. announce his decision on Twitter during his official visit.

The former Colorado State commit detailed his decision with PowerMizzou.com on Sunday.

"The biggest factor for me choosing Missouri was just a real family feel from players, coaches and the the staff that it is a family environment," Nathan explained. "I love that the coaches care about winning games just as much as us being successful men as I merge into an adult."

After a conversation with Barry Odom, the 3-star prospect didn't waste any time to let the head coach of his intentions to join the recruiting class.

"I actually told head coach Barry Odom when we had a meeting together with my family. He was so excited. He shook everyone's hand and said welcome to the family then we took a picture."

Nathan Jr.'s player host was redshirt junior linebacker Brandon Lee and he also got to interact with other Missouri players during his visit.

"We had a blast. We went laser tagging, and we competed in some of the arcade games. Me and the other recruits loved it."

Overall, the North Carolina product was impressed with what he saw from the Missouri program.

"The facilities were top tier and they are still adding a lot more. The stadium was just awesome already and to think we are still adding to the stadium as well."

Nathan Jr. told me he plans to sign on Wednesday.
