Del Howard committed to the Missouri Tigers this summer without ever having seen the campus. He got his first chance on his official visit over the weekend.

"I loved it," said the South Garland defensive back. "I liked the stadium, it was beautiful. The campus, it was real good. I loved the players. I liked how they treated all the recruits and how they act."
Howard was hosted by redshirt freshman running back Earl Goldsmith and was accompanied on the visit by his mom and cousins.
"We talked with coach Pinkel about me committing and that they're committed to me," Howard said. "Even if I get hurt, they won't take my scholarship. My mom was asking that question. They told me if I work hard, I could play. Mostly, coach was just answering a lot of questions for my mom."
Howard spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with the other ten prospects that were in town. He even played a little bit of the role of recruiter.
"I was just asking them if they were coming, how they liked it," Howard said. "Everybody seemed to be real positive about it."
There was just one thing Howard might need to have before coming back to Columbia: a pair of pants. He showed up at practice on Friday in shorts.
"It wasn't really cold when I showed up," Howard said with a laugh, despite the few inches of snow that were on the ground. "The shorts, I was just trying to stay comfortable on my trip."
