In-home visits coming for four-star guard Torrence Watson

MEQUON, Wisc. – It was a big junior year for the nation's No. 93 player as shooting guard Torrence Watson helped St. Louis (Mo.) Whitfield make it all the way to its state title game.

Waton's strong junior season has carried into the grassroots season. He was a standout for the Ramey Jets United squad at last weekend's NY2LA Swisn 'N Dish and is focused on being a better finisher.

"I just started working out Mondy through Thursday with my trainer," Watson said. "I'm pretty much working on strength and getting bigger and being able to finish through contact."

With offers from Butler, West Virginia, UNLV, Tulsa, Vanderbilt, Missouri, DePaul, Kansas State, Iowa State, Saint Louis, Creighton and more, Watson says there's not much new in his recruitment. He will conduct some in-home visits soon.

"Within the next couple of weeks I will be having some in-home visits with Vanderbilt, Marquette, Butler and Mizzou," he said.

Watson also mentioned that new Missouri coach Cuonzo Martin has been particularly active in his recruitment. He also discussed how landing 2017's No. 1 player, Michael Porter Jr., has turned some heads.

"It's been a big buzz within Missouri itself," Watson said. "A lot of people ask me about Missouri now. That's a school that I've already been looking at so, it's nice to see."

Currently, Watson doesn't have a timetable for making a decision but did admit to being a "momma's boy" and said that he would prefer to stay close to home for college.
