Independence Day

While Missouri Tiger fans won't officially learn of the team's bowl destination until sometime late on Sunday afternoon, the cat is out of the bag. Independence Bowl executive director Missy Setters was on the "Fifth Down Show" with Gabe DeArmond on Sunday morning and talked about the possibility of a return to Shreveport for the Tigers.

Mizzou played in the Independence Bowl in 2003, suffering a 27-14 loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks. This is the Tigers' first bowl bid since. The opponent will be a team from the Southeastern Conference, in all likelihood Florida or South Carolina.
Missouri will hold a bowl press conference on Sunday afternoon at Mizzou Arena. The BCS selection show is set to air at 4:00 p.m. Central time. The rest of the bowl bids will be officially announced approximately an hour after that. Head coach Gary Pinkel and the Missouri captains will be available for comment following the announcement.
PowerMizzou.com will be at the press conference and will have coverage throughout the evening.
