Multiple sources have told PowerMizzou.com that quarterback Maty Mauk's suspension is over. Sources said that Mauk has been reinstated to the roster and will begin practicing with the team this week. The Tigers do not play this weekend, but will practice Tuesday afternoon in beginning preparation for next Thursday's game against Mississippi State. Practices are closed to media and the public.

Mauk has been suspended since Tuesday, September 29th for a violation of team rules. Mizzou has provided no information on the specifics of Mauk's infractions. He was not arrested or charged with a crime. During the suspension, Mauk has not been able to practice with the Tigers or participate in any team activities.
Since Mauk's suspension, freshman Drew Lock has taken his place at quarterback. The Tigers won Lock's first start 24-10 over South Carolina, but have lost three straight games since and have managed just four field goals on offense in those three contests.
In four games prior to his suspension, Mauk completed 57-of-110 passes (51.8%) for 654 yards, six touchdowns and four interceptions. He had an efficiency rating of 112.5. In Lock's four starts, he is 62-for-127 (48.8%) for 538 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. The Tigers were 3-and-1 in Mauk's starts, but lost their only SEC game. Missouri is 1-and-3 in the games Lock has started.

For the duration of Mauk's suspension, Gary Pinkel's only comment has been that everyone would know Mauk was back when his name appeared on the depth chart. Due to the bye week, Pinkel did not hold his regular Monday press conference this week and no depth chart was distributed. Mizzou's team spokesman said he could not confirm Mauk's reinstatement when contacted on Monday night. Pinkel is expected to address Mauk's situation on Wednesday morning's SEC Coaches' Teleconference.
One of the major questions will be where Mauk is listed on the depth chart upon his return. Will he reassume his starting position or be listed behind Lock and perhaps co-backups Eddie Printz and Marvin Zanders? The next depth chart will not be released until Pinkel meets with the media on Sunday afternoon.
