PowerMizzou.com was able to catch up with White briefly as he was heading to the gym to get a post commitment workout in.

The 6-foot-6, 275-pound prospect just returned from a two day visit to Mizzou yesterday. After taking a day to think over everything and talk with his family, White new he was ready to make his decision.

“It was the family atmosphere around the program, the facilities and the Health Sciences department. I want to major in physical therapy,” the three-star prospect answered when asked why he felt like Mizzou was the right school for him.

Going into the visit White had not intended to commit to Missouri quickly, but he was overwhelmed by the family atmosphere and what he saw from the three coaches recruiting him.

“When I got to Mizzou it just felt like home,” he said. “[Ryan Walters, Glen Elarbee and Josh Heupel] push you to your fullest potential. They know that there is more in you than even you know so they get you to work harder. And they want to win. They want to win a lot.”

White had the opportunity to watch the Tigers practice on Tuesday and two things stood out about it.

“I loved the tempo and the physicality,” he explained.

Offensive tackle is where White and the coaches see Mizzou’s newest commit contributing, but it could be at either right or left. For his part, White said he will play whichever helps the team more.

There are still about 10 and a half months left till 2017 signing day. Despite the long wait ahead of him White doesn’t foresee any schools flipping his commitment.

“I think this is home right here,” he said.

White joins DaRon Davis as the first members of the 2017 class. He is the first of what could be as many as six offensive lineman.

PowerMizzou.com will be on hand at the Rivals Camp Series in Dallas this weekend where Hyrin White will be a participant. We will have much more on the newest Tiger after the camp.
