Mizzous streak continues

The run of commitments continues for the Mizzou football class of 2016. Tonight the Tigers added Nashville (Ill.) offensive tackle Royce Newman he confirmed with PowerMizzou. The class total is now 11 with seven of those commitments happening since Friday, June 5.
Newman recently camped with Mizzou for three days and performed well enough to earn an offer from Gary Pinkel and his coaches. The 6-foot-7, 280 pound prospect has been on the Tigers radar for a while having attended multiple events in Columbia in the last several months. The reasons for Newman's decision were fairly simple.

"I decided because it's a great school and it's very close to home," Newman said.
At the high school level, Newman plays defensive line and tight end as well as basketball so he possesses a lot of athleticism. The Tigers view him as an offensive lineman. Once he gets to Columbia he will follow the training program that has worked for past players like Justin Britt.
With the commitment of Newman, Mizzou now has three offensive lineman committed. The door will still be open to certain offensive line prospects, but the Tigers could be done at the position as well.
PowerMizzou.com will have more from Newman as soon as possible.
