Relief for Walters
Trevon Walters thought he was going crazy.
The 2014 Missouri signee out of Manatee High School in Bradenton, Fla., was set to begin his college career in Columbia on June 1. A running back, Walters was coming off two strong seasons for his team and was ready to force his way into Missouri's backfield rotation for this season.

But the Thursday before he made the trip, Walters got a troubling call from Missouri's staff. It seemed his old high school, in Alabama, claimed he didn't take a required Biology class.
"I even knew the teacher's name," Walters said, constantly maintaining that he took the class. "My sister took the same class. The school in Alabama was so slow, and they like just switched over their computers so they lost my transcripts and had to go downtown to get them.
"It was so messed up."
That Friday and Saturday, Walters said Missouri's staff tried to get everything together so he didn't have to delay his enrollment. But Sunday, June 1, came and went and Walters was left playing the waiting game. He's documented his frustration on Twitter throughout that process.
At the same time, Walters stayed in close contact with his future running backs coach, Brian Jones. On Wednesday, Walters talked to Jones again on the phone.
"He called me and said, 'Man, the NCAA is just killing us, you're still not cleared,'" Walters said. "It was the same thing I'd been hearing.
"But then he laughed and said he was joking. It was just a big, happy, joyful moment for me."
Walters will head to Columbia on Friday, nearly two weeks since his intended enrollment date. He said he's ready to make up for lost time.
"I've been texting with Keyon (Dilosa, a 2014 signee)," Walters said. "We've been keeping in touch, and he's letting me know what's going on with the workouts so I'm ready when I get there."
Walters said he intends to room with fellow 2014 signee Ish Witter, although he found out today that Witter will enroll at Missouri during the second summer session at the beginning of July.
