Rising Show-Me Star

Few players are seeing their recruiting profiles rise more than Juwan Morgan this summer. The three-star from Waynesville, Mo., rattled off a long list of new offers.
"Northwestern, Creighton, Tulsa, Wake Forest, Indiana, Washington and UTEP," Morgan said, pausing for a second. "And then Western Kentucky, too."

Forgive him if it takes a second to recall them all. Morgan took unofficial visits to Indiana and Illinois this week with AAU teammate Shake Milton.
"They were both great places and both focused really big on details as far as player development and making us better as a whole," Morgan said. "They were great places and even just riding around, people recognized Illinois and Indiana basketball just riding around, people were yelling out at us.
"Indiana thing that jumped out was the difference they can make in a year in a player. Illinois was how much they focus on player development."
Morgan is getting busy with AAU tournaments. He will be in Memphis this weekend. That means he does not have any other campus visits planned right now.
"I wish I could visit every school that's talking to me to show that respect," Morgan said. "It's fun for me because I have my dad, my high school coach and my AAU coach who have been through all that already, I have all three of them to go to so it's been fun."

After the tournament in Memphis, Morgan's Waynesville Tigers will take part in Missouri's team camp. The home state school has picked up its interest in the nation's No. 139 prospect since Kim Anderson was hired.
"I just started hearing from them a week and a half, two weeks ago," Morgan said. "I can tell coach Anderson's really trying to make some big changes there and he already wants to get the in-state players. I can tell he's really going to change the program."
Which program Morgan changes remains to be seen. He certainly has plenty of options.
