Second Garfield Heights prospect picks Mizzou

Missouri basketball picked up its fourth commitment for the 2016 class and second from Garfield Heights High School on Sunday when guard Frankie Hughes announced his pledge to Kim Anderson’s program.

A 6-foot-3 shooting guard, Hughes joins his high school teammate Willie Jackson and big men Mitchell Smith and Reed Nikko in Anderson’s class. Hughes originally signed with Louisville in November but announced that he had mutually parted ways with the school a few weeks ago.

For AAU Hughes played with All-Ohio Red on the Nike EYBL circuit. Along with Jackson he helped lead Garfield Heights to two consecutive state semi-finals and was an all-state selection.

With the addition of Hughes the Tigers still have two open scholarships for the 2016 class. Junior college guard C.J. Jackson visited this weekend with Hughes, but is likely to take more time with his decision. The Tigers have also been recruiting players such as Deshawn Corprew, Cheickna Dembele, Alpha Diallo, Jalen Harris and Kalif Young.

PowerMizzou.com will continue to follow the targets as the Tigers look to finish their class. Below is a tweet from Garfield Heights head coach Sonny Johnson.
