Stribling finally sees Mizzou

 

It is not completely unheard of for a recruit to commit to a school without ever visiting as 2014 Thompson's Station (Tenn.) Independence defensive back Finis Stribling IV did the night Mizzou offered him. When the visit does eventually take place, both fans and coaches hope that the reality of the school lives up to the idea to which the recruit committed.

In the case of Stribling it did.

"It was a nice visit. I liked everything," the 5-foot-10, 170 pound prospect stated. "The staff showed me the academic side of the campus and where all the different classes are held. Then I got to see the columns. I also got to go down to the field and tour the entire training facility. Last thing I saw was downtown, where all the main restaurants are. It was a great trip."

For Stribling, who made the trip with his family and was in Columbia from Saturday to Sunday, there was one stop on the visit that stood about above the rest.

"Getting to see the training facility and all the equipment that's inside it. From the outside it doesn't seem like it's that big, but when you get inside it is humongous. There is so much for the athletes inside," he explained. "Then there is the construction on the stadium and they're also going to build a new indoor facility, even though they already have one."

One question remained after Stribling's visit. Would it further solidify his commitment to Mizzou?

"Yes," he answered emphatically. "I was definitely very impressed and amazed with how the campus is set up and with just how everything is in Columbia."

With the visit behind him and his commitment even further solidified Stribling will now turn his focus to an extremely busy summer.

"I have summer training. I'm getting ready for my senior season with the team. Going through summer football," he said. "I also have summer track going on still. I'm running in USATF."
