Damien Nash ran for nearly 500 yards a year ago as the backup to school rushing leader Zack Abron. Now, Nash is the starter and the man responsible for carrying the Tiger rushing attack, along with quarterback Brad Smith. On Monday afternoon, Nash spoke with Gabe DeArmond of PowerMizzou.com and answered some questions from our subscribers.

RobSTLTiger asked: Do you feel like there are any limitations because of your knee injury?
Nash: “That stuff's out of my mind. For me, it's not an issue anymore.”
Bo Jangels asked: How do you think the running game is going to change with yourself and Marcus Woods replacing Abron?
Nash: “I don't think anything changes with the running game. You're going to see the same type of running offense. It's just two different running backs with two different styles.”
tigercheev asked: What differences do you see in the program as a whole from last year to this year?
Nash: “I feel like from the defensive standpoint, there's a lot of intensity and a lot more want. Defensively, they want to go out there and they don't want to be defeated at all so they are out there competing as hard as anybody.”
A follow-up from PhillyTiger: Can you tell in practice that your defense is better than a year ago?
Nash: “I think the intensity level is way up there and that's what's going to make them as good as they're going to be. Just going out there treating every practice like a game is going to make them better in game situations.”
BigMoTiger asked: It looks like you've put on some weight. Did you feel you needed to do that to carry the ball every down?
Nash: “I put on about five pounds and actually just lost five too. They want me to stay probably in the teens and I just weighed in at 218. I think it will help my quickness in being a little lighter.”
IKETiger asked: Is there any possibility you could get a year of eligibility back with the knee injury coming in your first game in junior college?
Nash: “When the time comes, then I'll worry about that.”
