No position will be a bigger focus leading up to National Signing Day for Missouri than defensive tackle. The Tigers got a potential immediate boost at that spot when Rashad Brandon committed during an official visit on Saturday afternoon.

Brandon, a New Jersey native, plays at ASA College in Brooklyn, NY. He was the Northeast Conference Defensive Player of the Year with 34 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. The Avengers had the country's third best passing defense, giving up just 88.5 yards per game. Brandon also made the all-conference team as a freshman at ASA in 2015.

He checks in at 6-foot-3, 315 pounds and will have three years to play two when he arrives in Columbia. He told PowerMizzou.com he plans to sign in December and enroll in January.

"Basically I committed because of the opportunity to come in and play," he said.

Missouri has AJ Logan returning at defensive tackle. Both Terry Beckner Jr. and Markell Utsey will be coming back off knee injuries. The Tigers have targeted a number of junior college defensive tackles to help bolster the depth there.

Brandon had offers from Marshall, Temple and Ole Miss, but says he is finished with the recruiting process.

"I'm done with the visits," he said.

PowerMizzou.com will have a full interview with Brandon tomorrow when he wraps up his official visit.
