Tigers host two top 50 visitors

The new Missouri coaching staff already has two commitments on the line for the Class of 2013. On Wednesday, Frank Haith and Tim Fuller hosted two more potential stars in that class. North Carolina products Isaiah Hicks and Anton Gill were in Columbia for a quick visit.

"We are in for the NIKE event in St. Louis and decided to come down to campus for a few hours," said Anton Gill, Sr. (Anton Gill's father). "It went well. We got an opportunity to speak with coach Haith and coach Fuller. We saw the arena, which is very nice, the weight room, the campus. It's a very nice campus. The visit was good."

Gill is rated as the No. 47 overall prospect in the Class of 2013 and Hicks checks in at No. 23. Gill is a 6-foot-2 shooting guard and Hicks a 6-foot-7 power forward. The players are familiar with Haith from his days in the ACC and Fuller has deep ties to the state of North Carolina, where both play high school ball.

"Obviously coach Haith has a great track record," Gill, Sr. said. "He is a good coach and coach Fuller has a great track record as well. Both our kids are open in the process and with Missouri, it was a chance to see the campus and an opportunity to meet with the coaches."

Gill Sr. said that neither player has an official scholarship offer from the Tigers just yet, but it is very early in the process. Hicks claims offers from Clemson, Virginia Tech, Xavier and North Carolina State while Gill has been offered by Wake Forest, NC State, East Carolina, South Carolina, UNC-Greensboro and Louisville.

"It's very early in the process and neither kid has obviously made a decision yet. We are trying to talk to different coaches, learn and find out what the best fit is for the kids at the end of the day," Gill, Sr. said. "I know Anton is nowhere near a decision and neither is Isaiah I don't think. Both are looking forward to having a good summer, improve their games and see what happens down the road."

While the two could play together down the road, Hicks and Gill are not necessarily a "package deal."

"I'm not going to say that," Gill, Sr. said. "Both of them are going to choose the school that's good for them. They could end up playing together, but the decision will be based on what is the best fit for both kids."
