Tigers release basketball schedule

 
Missouri released its schedule for the 2012-13 basketball season on Wednesday afternoon. The Tigers will play a handful of marquee non-conference games in addition to a full 18-game slate in their first season in the Southeastern Conference.

Mizzou gets things started with exhibition games against Northwest Missouri State and Missouri Southern on October 29th and November 4th. The first regular season game is Saturday, November 10th against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
The first games of national note will be played in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas from November 22nd through 24th. The Tigers open up with Stanford before facing either Louisville or Northern Iowa in the second round. They will play their third tournament game on the 24th.

Mizzou will play four non-conference home games before two big matchups sandwiched around Christmas. The Tigers face Illinois in the annual Braggin' Rights game on December 22nd in St. Louis and travel to UCLA for the first game of a home-and-home series with the Bruins on December 28th.
Following the final non-conference game against Bucknell on January 5th, the Tigers start SEC play at home against Alabama on Tuesday, January 8th. Georgia, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Ole Miss, Florida and LSU will come to Mizzou Arena in league play before the home finale against Arkansas on Tuesday, March 5th, which will mark Mike Anderson's return to Columbia.

Highlights of the SEC road schedule include a January 19th game at Florida, a February 7th trip to Texas A&M and a February 23rd game at Kentucky, the lone regular season meeting with the Wildcast. The Tigers wrap up the regular season at Tennessee on March 9th.
