TN DB makes quick decision

The Tiger football program offered 2014 Thompson's Station (Tenn.) Independence defensive back/running back Finis Stribling earlier tonight. After sitting down and having a chance to talk with his parents about it they decided that Mizzou was the best place for him.

"Missouri has been at the top of my list even before they offered," Stribling said. "I've been following Missouri and I knew when they offered I wanted to go there. The chance to play in the SEC with a great program like that I just decided to go ahead and commit."
Missouri is Stribling's first SEC offer, but recently he has been hearing more from Kentucky and Cincinnati. Despite the new interest Stribling said he felt like his best relationship was with his Mizzou recruiting coach Alex Grinch.
In high school Stribling plays both ways, but Mizzou projects him on the defensive side of the ball which is fine with him.
"Missouri wants me at corner," explained Stribling. "I like playing both running back and cornerback, but I feel like I'm stronger at cornerback and so did Mizzou. I prefer delivering the hits to receiving them."
With recruiting wrapped up so early for Stribling he now will focus on getting himself prepared athletically and academically for his senior year.
"Working out to prepare for my senior season and finishing out school strong are my main focus, but I do plan to visit Missouri officially still. Most likely during my senior year sometime," said Stribling.
Stribling, who plans to major in Physics at Mizzou, is the Tigers 9th commitment for the class of 2014 and their second tonight.
