Two Tigers will transfer

Missouri announced today that two players will not return to the Tiger basketball team next season. Sophomore guard Miguel Paul and freshman forward Tyler Stone will transfer at the end of the semester.
"These are outstanding young men and I have truly enjoyed coaching them at Missouri," Anderson said. "We understand their decision and will do everything we can to support them as they start new chapters in their collegiate careers."

Paul signed with the Tigers as part of a six-man recruiting class in 2007. The group has won 54 games over their first two years and played in the NCAA Tournament each season. As a freshman, the Lakeland, FL native averaged three points and 1.5 assists in 11.4 minutes on the Elite Eight team. But Paul's role, unlike the rest of the sophomores, did not increase this season. He averaged 12 minutes a game, scoring 3.5 points and dishing out 1.7 assists. Meanwhile, freshman Mike Dixon Jr. averaged 16.6 minutes a night and the Tigers signed Phil Pressey, one of the nation's most highly touted high school point guards.
"I just feel this decision is in the best interest of me and my family," Paul said. "I love Missouri. I love my teammates, the coaches and the fans. My teammates at Mizzou will always be like my brothers and I wouldn't trade these two years for anything. I wish everyone here all the best."
Stone signed last spring with the Tigers and played in just 12 of Missouri's 34 games. He averaged two points in 3.9 minutes in those games.
"I appreciate everyone at Missouri," Stone said. "From my teammates and coaches to the fans and students, this past year has been a great experience for me as a student and as a basketball player."
The moves free up two scholarships for the Tigers in the spring recruiting period, which were claimed by junior college all-Americans Ricardo Ratliffe and Matt Pressey over the weekend. It appears that would wrap up a six-man class for Missouri that should finish in the national ttop ten according to Rivals.com.
PowerMizzou.com has been on top of the recruiting situation all year long and will be the complete source for Tiger fans as the class takes shape. The spring signing period begins on Wednesday, April 14th and runs through May 19th. Both Pressey and Ratliffe are expected to sign this week.
