Pine Bluff (Ark.) wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield is the latest high-profile commitment for Missouri's 2024 recruiting class heading into National Signing Day, announcing his decision on Tuesday.
The four-star prospect is fresh off his official visit with Missouri this past weekend and and chose the Tigers among a final group that also included Arkansas, Auburn, and LSU.
For Crutchfield, Missouri checked all the boxes for him to continue his football career in Columbia.
"The atmosphere, hanging out with some of the players, and how much love they show the football team up there at Columbia," Crutchfield said of his Mizzou visit. "I really like how the coaching staff treats their players and they really showed that they not only want you, but they need you and want you to be a part of their program."
Missouri had been trending for the 6-foot-3, 176-pound talent since his decommitment from Arkansas back on November 4th. He was committed to the Razorbacks for nearly seven months.
Crutchfield was originally offered by Missouri back in December of last year, so the Tigers' coaching staff has been involved for quite a while as defensive line coach Al Davis has strong ties within the state of Arkansas.
During his senior season, Crutchfield hauled in 42 catches for 930 yards and 13 scores, proving he is a deep-ball threat by averaging 22.1 yards per catch. He will participate in the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas on January 6th.
Throughout the season, the Arkansas native has taken notice of the Tigers' high-powered offense and their utilization of talented wide receivers.
"They've got a very explosive offense and have been very consistent. I can see that they are really turning things around. I like that kind of explosive offense that I think I can play in and get to the NFL."
Crutchfield is current high school teammates with fellow 2024 Missouri commitment, Austyn Dendy and former teammates with Missouri freshman tight end Jordon Harris.
With Crutchfield in the fold, Missouri now has 19 total commitments in their 2024 recruiting class. He is the second wide receiver pledge for the Tigers, joining fellow four-star pledge James Madison out of St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.).
