Missouri hosted a wave of transfers throughout last weekend, among those is former Georgia linebacker Darris Smith, who announced his commitment to the Tigers on Wednesday.
Across two seasons at Georgia, Smith appeared in 16 total games, totaling six tackles. He was an outside linebacker in the Bulldogs' 3-4 defensive scheme, but is likely to play defensive end in Mizzou's four-man front.
During the 2022 season, Smith appeared in 11 games for the Bulldogs mostly on special teams coverage and as a reserve.
This past season, Smith appeared in five games and registered three tackles, including one tackle for loss.
Coming out of Appling County (Ga.), Smith was Rivals250 prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, receiving a 5.9, four-star ranking and checked in as the 159th best player in the country.
He chose Georgia over the likes of Miami, North Carolina, Tennessee, Michigan State, Auburn, Syracuse, and others.
As a transfer portal prospect, Smith is currently ranked No. 164 overall by Rivals.com. He will have two years of eligibility for the Tigers.
Smith is the four transfer commitment for Missouri during the 2024 cycle, joining Clemson cornerback Toriano Pride, Oklahoma offensive lineman Cayden Green and Georgia State running back Marcus Carroll.
