Key departures and additions for Mizzou opponents: Oklahoma
We're three weeks away from SEC Media Days in Dallas. With the offseason slowly but surely winding down, there’s still enough time to talk about the acquisitions and departures Missouri's 2024 (and 2025) conference opponents have made.
Next up is Oklahoma, which is Missouri's fifth conference opponent. The two teams will match up in Week 11 on Nov. 9.

Key departures
Oklahoma joining the league was already enough to ensure the Tiger-Sooner Peace Pipe rivalry would be reignited but the last 10 to 11 months have provided a lot of buildup to the teams' early November matchup.
It started with both of them trying to obtain the services of five-star EDGE Williams Nwaneri last summer. He ended up signing with the Tigers in December and in that same month Green, a former high school teammate of Nwaneri's, departed from the Sooners to join Mizzou.
Green, the 12th overall transfer in the Rivals transfer tracker rankings, played in 11 games (started five) for the Sooners as a freshman in 2023 primarily at left guard.
Gabriel completed 69% of his passes for 3,660 yards, 30 touchdowns and six interceptions in 12 games last season. The signal-caller is the 14th overall transfer and will be looking to pick up where Bo Nix left off at Oregon.
Lawrence, the 57th overall transfer, transferred to Ole Miss this offseason after recording 44 tackles, four tackles for loss, three pass deflections, two interceptions and a forced fumble in 12 games a year ago.
Wagoner recorded three tackles and a pair of pass deflections in seven games as a freshman last season. He is a former four-star prospect and is a four-star transfer, 128th overall, heading to California.
Byrd played in eight games (four starts) last season at left and right guard. The 213th overall transfer took his talents to Dallas to join SMU.
Walker, the 256th overall transfer, transferred to Wisconsin after racking up 513 yards and seven touchdowns on 102 carries (five yards per carry).
McCullough had 30 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and three pass deflections in 10 games last season. The 267th overall transfer joined Louisville this offseason.
In addition to all these losses to the transfer portal, Oklahoma lost three tackles to the NFL.
Guyton was picked 29th overall by the Cowboys. Meanwhile, Rouse was the first pick of the sixth round (No. 177) by the Minnesota Vikings and Laulu went to the Indianapolis Colts at No. 234.
Key additions
Burks, the 36th overall transfer, led Purdue in all three major receiving categories with 47 receptions for 629 yards and seven touchdowns last season.
Woullard led Miami (OH) in tackles for loss with 12 to go along with a team-high 9.5 sacks, 41 tackles, two forced fumbles and a pass deflection. He is the 46th overall transfer.
Franklin was an FCS second-team All-American in 2023 at UT-Martin after recording 1,386 yards and 11 touchdowns on 223 carries (6.21 yards per carry) in 11 games. He's the 66th overall transfer.
Williams, the 80th overall transfer, recorded 33 tackles, five tackles for loss and three sacks in 12 games in 2023 with TCU a year ago.
Five spots below Williams on the transfer list is Hatchett, the former Washington offensive lineman. He played in eight games (started four) at right guard for the Huskies on the way to the national title game.
Three spots below Hatchett at No. 88 is Hickman formerly of SMU. He started all 14 games at center for the Mustangs and had a PFF College pass-blocking grade of 83.1 and a run-blocking grade of 77.4.
Brown started 12 of the 13 games he played in for Michigan State last year. He is the No. 184 overall transfer.
Nwaiwu played in 10 games (eight starts) primarily at right guard for North Texas last year. He had a run-blocking grade of 75.5.
The Sooners lost a lot of good talent but bringing in six top-100 transfer talent should help them moving forward.
