The former four-star was ranked as the No. 150 overall prospect in the Class of 2019. He played in 13 games as a true freshman for Clemson that fall and then was third on the team with 55 tackles in 2020. He started six games and played in all 11 for the Tigers that season.

He made seven tackles while appearing in just four games in 2021, which meant he retained a redshirt for this season. While he has spent three years in college already, he could have as many as three years left at Mizzou because of this year's redshirt and the fact that 2020 didn't count toward eligibility for anyone.

"Charleston has the size you idealize in a deep safety, but he can also play in the box," Paul Strelow of TigersIllustrated.com said. "Clemson coaches raved last summer about his physical nature, and he brings considerable experience to the table."

Charleston entered the transfer portal on October 19th. He took a visit to Missouri over the weekend of December 3rd. He has not commented publicly at all since his decision to transfer so his other pursuers were unknown.

If everyone returns, Charleston would be the ninth safety on the Mizzou roster. But Mizzou will lose Shawn Robinson and likely Martez Manuel after next year, and there could still be attrition this offseason.
