Missouri is 7-and-2. Coming off a 19-point win over Miami (OH), the Tigers have their best record through nine games since 2013-14 when Frank Haith's final team started 10-0 (that team missed the NCAA tournament by the way). They are one win from matching last season's total and about two weeks from matching the highest total in the last three years.
And Cuonzo Martin wants to make one thing very clear. He is not impressed.
"You got to set a tone. It doesn't matter who we play," the Tigers' head coach said after the win over Miami on Tuesday night. "I tell our guys it doesn't matter the name of the other team, it's how we play the game and we've got to continue to get better in how we play the game."
How Missouri played was mediocre. They won fairly easily because they played a team ill-equipped to present a true challenge. But they turned the ball over 17 times against a team that applies little defensive pressure. For the first 23 and a half minutes, only four players had scored.
