Round Rock (TX) running back Simi Bakare packed a lot into the final weekend before the early signing period.

Bakare and his Cedar Ridge teammates lost 28-7 to Allen in the Texas 6A state semifinals on Saturday afternoon. After the game, he boarded a plane for Columbia to take an official visit to Missouri on the final open weekend. The visit went very well.

"I'm going to be committing to Missouri and signing this Wednesday," he said.

Bakare had been a Tulane commit since October, but had been in touch with the Tiger coaches for quite some time and decided to change direction.

"It went great. I loved the facilities and loved the campus," Bakare said. "It was real crazy. Doing a whole lot of walking and a whole lot of eating."

Bakare ran for 1,758 yards and 29 touchdowns in 15 games this season as Cedar Ridge went 13-2 in his senior campaign. He won offensive player of the year honors in his disctrict.

Despite the shortened stay, Bakare saw everything he needed to see in Columbia. He will sign with the Tigers on Wednesday. He is the 21st known commitment for the Tigers 2018 class.
