QUARTERBACK

Drew Lock set school records for yards and touchdowns. He made one bad throw, but we won't ding him for that. Barry Odom said it was as well as he has seen Lock play. The opposition wasn't a great indicator, but Saturday was a strong start to Lock's junior campaign. The only downside is you wish he wouldn't have had to play so long and the Tigers could have gotten a look at the backups. FINAL GRADE: A

RUNNING BACK

Damarea Crockett became the first Tiger ever to top 200 yards in consecutive games and would have had three touchdowns if not for the worst rule in college football. Larry Rountree got his feet wet with 41 yards and a score as well. FINAL GRADE: A

WIDE RECEIVER

Johnathon Johnson scored on the very first play. J'Mon Moore had three catches of more than 50 yards. Emanuel Hall looked good. Dominic Collins got in the end zone. All in all, a potent, balanced attack. FINAL GRADE: A

TIGHT END

Jason Reese, Kendall Blanton and Albert Okwuegbunam all had catches. They moved the chains and got in the end zone. And they helped out in the run game. FINAL GRADE: A

OFFENSIVE LINE

Missouri had 800 total yards and Lock may not have been touched. Odom singled out Tre'Vour Simms and Trystan Castillo as playing well in their first starts. FINAL GRADE: A

DEFENSIVE LINE

Rashad Brandon flashed a few times. Walter Palmore had six tackles. There were some plays here and there. Overall, it was the strongest part of the defense. On this day, that's not saying a lot. FINAL GRADE: D-

LINEBACKERS

Nothing stood out as especially egregious, but the Bears had way too many big plays, points and yards. When that's the case, every part of the defense shares the blame. Without the benefit of film, it's impossible to say which linebackers were better or worse, but none stood out other than a few plays by Kaleb Prewett and a couple by Cale Garrett. FINAL GRADE: F

SECONDARY

On a bad day for the defense, this was the worst spot. Missouri blew coverages, it missed tackles and it generally had a terrible day on the back end of the defense all around. DeMarkus Acy is going to have to be better specifically, but nobody in the secondary is going to put this one on the highlight reel. FINAL GRADE: F

SPECIAL TEAMS

Considering it started with a clanked PAT and a kickoff out of bounds, this one turned out better than expected. But Tucker McCann didn't do a lot to inspire absolute confidence. Dimetrios Mason had a big return and Corey Fatony was expectedly not needed much. FINAL GRADE: C-

COACHING

The defense was awful. I have doubts the coaches were telling the players to miss tackles and blow assignments, but when everyone says they came out not ready, that's on the coaches. Josh Heupel's game plan worked perfectly. But the defensive coaches are going to have a LOOOOONG week with South Carolina coming to town. FINAL GRADE: C
